Thanks to everyone who has sent in their House Martin nest locations we have manged to log 28 active nests within the Aldbourne Parish. If you know of any not listed on this map please do let us know so that we can make our survey more complete, it is not too late to log active nests.
The last of these magnificent birds will be heading back to Africa in the next 2-3 weeks so please do enjoy them over the coming days while they are still here. Once they have gone do not put them out of your mind – consider putting up a nesting box ready for their return next year (they readily take to next boxes and not only do they improve breeding success over natural nests but you can chose where to site the nest to avoid poo on the doorstep).
